1. Teams: Usually 2 teams of equal size (often 6 players each, but can be more or fewer).

2. Objective: Eliminate all players on the opposing team.

3. Court: Divided into two halves, one for each team. Players must stay on their side.

4. Starting: RushBalls start on the center line. At the signal, players rush to grab them.

They are hit by a live ball (thrown by the other team) and it is not caught.
-
Their thrown ball is caught by an opponent.
-
They step out of bounds.
-
They cross the center line.

6. Catching: Catching a live ball eliminates the thrower.A teammate may return from the out area when a catch is made (if playing with “return” rule).

7. Blocking: Players can use a ball in their hands to block incoming throws. If the ball you use to block is knocked from your hands and hits you, you're out.

8. Boundaries: Players must stay in bounds.Stepping over the center line or sidelines usually results in an out.

9. Live Ball: A ball is “live” until it hits the floor, wall, or ceiling. Only hits by live balls count for outs.
